Justin and Julia are friends who are both persuing PhDs. Justin is studying mechanical engineering at UCLA. He spends a lot of time in the lab working on robots. Likewise Julia is also persuing a PhD in robotics at Stanford. She has won an aerospace award with Jeff Bezos and has had something she built sent into space!

When Julia isn't building robots, she enjoys singing, hiking, and art, including creating an art installation for Burning Man.

Justin has been building since he was 4 when his sister gifted him a space set and he's never stopped. Julia's early interest in LEGO Mindstorms was her entrypoint into the world of robotics!

Justin's favorite build to date is 'Spectra the Light Dragon' and is one of the largest scale character builds he's done in which he used his engineering skills to execute.

Justin and Julia both naturally excel in the mechanical side of LEGO and create original builds with a flair of humor.

If this duo won the grand prize, Justin would pay for his college as he continues working towards his PHD along with exploring some robotic concepts that he never had the funds to pursue.
